Holiday Inn

This installation was exhibited at the Bell Roberts Gallery in 2005. It is made up of actual found objects from the Richtersveld.

This piece of metal comes from an actual tin shack that Robert Slingsby recorded literally over decades. As the process of abandoning shacks progressed it ultimately ended up totally disintegrated. The irony of the identification of the shack as a five star holiday inn was irresistible, becoming an integral part of the installation.
