Following his extensive travels in 2007, which ended with a trip to China, this overwhelming country could not help but be inspirational.

They attempt to convey the atmosphere of living in an industrialised city. The commonality of traveling around cities, driving around in the ubiquitous van, he noted how other cultures embrace and reflect the iconography around them. These paintings include the iconography of the Cape in particular, and cities in broader terms. Cities have reached their ecological tipping point, thus they are simply images of facing up to our current reality.

Naturally his technique and the symbols developed from petroglyphs that have become associated with his work, remain a constant.
